Ribbon Days
Ribbon Days are open to all registered athletes from any club affiliated to Athletics New Zealand. In special circumstances, clubs might open up the entries to other people.Generally the athletes are Grades 7 - 14, but most clubs allow Grade 6 athletes to join in and will put on a couple of lunchtime races for the little ones. Older teens sometimes join in, but we generally encourage them to go to Senior league meetings.
- Most Ribbon Days are on Sundays.
- First events start at 10am.
- It pays to arrive at 9.30 to register and warm up.
- Entry fee is usually $5 per athlete.
- Athletes usually enter 4 or 5 events, but this is their choice and some choose to do more or less.
- Host clubs usually put on a sausage sizzle and other snack food.
- Clubs usually help each other out in regards to providing Officials.
- They are a great opportunity for parents to learn the ins and outs of officiating and running an event.
